Pete Pirone

Executive Producer / Marketing Director

Pete Pirone was born July 10th 1989. He currently lives in Seaford, New York with parents Pete and Lorie, and sister, Janine. He grew up playing soccer, basketball, and baseball. In high school, Pete played defensive and offensive line all four years for the Seaford High School Vikings. His senior year, he was a part of the Big 4 Championship team, and received a Coach’s award.

 

Pete is currently a sophomore at York College with a major in marketing. He started with WVYC as a baseball analyst in the Fall of 2007 for “The Sports Drive” where he correctly predicted the Colorado Rockies to make the World Series. Pete also holds the “claim to fame” in predicting the New York Giants as Super Bowl winners over the New England Patriots. He was promoted as the Executive producer, and held the title during the entire Spring Semester of 2008. After the show left the air at the end of the Spring Semester, Pete, Ryan Beinstein, and Rob Mayer came up with “The Sports Take” to take over the Monday 4pm-7pm time slot. Pete is currently the Executive Producer and the Head of Marketing for the show. He is in charge of making show outlines, and coming up with ideas, as well as promoting the show. Pete also hosts “The Sports Beat: with Rob and Pete” Fridays from 4pm-7pm on WVYC with his co-host Rob Mayer. He is the executive producer for “The Sports Beat” as well. His favorite teams include the New York Mets, New York Knicks, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and in college basketball, the Georgetown Hoyas.
