I know the Orioles are still ways away from being in contention in the AL East. But I don't see this team finishing in last and could be a surprise this season. The Orioles are making a lot of progress in a short period of time. Their young talent is making the team better and better. Plus they have the key vets that hold the team together. Even when the Jays rotation has McGowan included it isn't as good as the O's. Guthrie, although not a true ace, is still a good pick a top the rotation. Uehara has proven his worth in Japan and the Japanese league has to be somewhat legitimized after all a bunch of Japanese league players won the WBC. Not having Rich Hill to start the season will hurt a little but Mark Hendrickson or Brian Bass could fill in. The O's outfield is just plain ridculous. Markakis is the perfect mix of o and d. Adam Jones had a pretty good first full season and has seen some improvement this spring. The infield is very solid on the defensive side after signing Izturis. And Gregg Zaun is a good short term option until Weiters is ready. But thats only my opinion and only time will tell.
